Unsure whether parts for Z170 would be compatible on the Z270

Here is my question, I purchase an Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero last fall, came up with a an Error Code 00, and followed the instructions found at this site to resolve the problem. Removed the memory, unhooked the fans, the HD, Graphics Card, Flashed it, upgraded the BIOS, and still could not get past that 00 Code. I even went through the process of testing the PS. Contact the manufacturer, was told to go through the process again, and same result when the tech said apply for an RMA. Chatted with someone about the problem was told to do the same procedures and then finally told I should take it to computer repair shop to prove that it does not work. My local parts store failed to email the receipt so I cannot take it Geek Squad for testing of the CPU and motherboard. When working with EVGA with a faulty board, they said just RMA and they sent the replacement within a week. I went with Asus because I believe their marketing and discounted the terrible things I heard about customer service. I will eat the cost of the board and go with another manufacturer but can I move to the Z270, when the ram, cpu, and GPU were for the Z170?

Solution
You did not list the parts you have, but, anyway, I'm assuming for the CPU you got either an i5-6600K or an i7-6700K. For the RAM, you got a DDR4 (whichever capacity or speed it is).

If my assumptions are correct, then, yes, you can plug those in a Z270 motherboard and they will be compatible. The GPU, of course with a PCIe x16 interface, will work with any of the those motherboards as you'll just plug that in the PCIe x16 slot.

In short yes..

However you will have to buy a new copy of Windows after switching out the MB.
