Hello guys. I have been hosting games for quite a while and never ran into an issue such as this one. Basically the problem is that my ports are forwarded to my local IP address and I do not seem to be able to connect with my public IP address.
The game is using port 27015, which is default port for most steam games. This port is also used for games such as Garry's mod left 4 dead 2 and so on, where I also used to host servers and never had an issue.
Now I tried disconnecting my router and connected my computer directly to the modem/convertor. It does not require any porforwarding because my PC is directly connected to the WAN.
When I hosted the server it suddenly worked.
One way of solving this would be openning DMZ on my local computer but I do not want to be exposed to the internet.
This little experiment I did makes me strongly believe the problem is with the ports themselves. Could you guys give me any suggestions?
Thank you.
