I've had my SSD for about a little less month and according to crystaldiskinfo I've already written about 750gb in total. And when i look there are random spikes where 10gb are written after an hour of games or browsing. All i have in the terms of programs is my browser as well as drivers so only 55gb out of 223gb is used. All games and other programs on a separate HDD with the directories of the browser downloads as well as cache to my hdd and things like hibernate and defragmentation is disabled. Is this amount of writing normal? Thanks.
System specs:
i5 3470
12gb ram
rx 480 4gb
240gb corsair force le
1tb hdd

Solution
Yep, that'll be them, you can move TMP and TEMP directories that way. There's also stuff in my downloads, my documents, etc that's best moved over too as that gets accessed regularly and then it won't matter just how large files are or how often they get deleted.

As far as the gaming is concerned, you will get some read/writes there as saved games are usually in the C drive, especially if used via Steam or Arc.

If moving any of the temp files ends up affecting your game play with unsatisfactory results, just move that one back. It's a balancing act.

There's always this too that will affect ssd r/w amounts.

Windows default will set precache and other temp files on C drive, this is where all that data is going. Might consider unloading those temp files to your hdd instead. There won't be any loss in performance.

Hibernate can be deleted totally, it's part of the OS that's specific to laptop use, but gets incorporated into pc usage. You have no need for battery saving software.

Thanks for the reply. Does that mean to change the directory of the temp files? If so is that the environment variables in the system properties under the advanced tab?
Thanks.

Solution

should i disable page files or decrease the amount, currently i have 1000mb set to ssd for and 2000 in hdd.

Like said, win 10 will not trim the ssd if defrag is disabled. Undo it. Win10 is natively supporting SSDs, unlike other previous versions, where some optimizing had to be done.

changing pagefile settings can result in freezes, errors or unstable system, don´t change it.

do you stream a lot? if yes, e.g amazon prime instant video will cache videos on the SSD and therefore produce a lot of traffic.
