Unusual high ping in certain games

I recently got new internet. I got virgin media up to 100 megabits. I did a speed test on speedtest.net. My results are 9 ping, 103 mb/s download, 6.6 upload. When i first got the internet. I was getting pings of around 15 - 30. Now i am getting 50 - 80. I have absolutley no idea why this is. Please help 🙁

First of all speedtest.net isn't always the most accurate way of testing your broadband, if you live in the UK test it on speedtest.btwholesale.com as this will give a more accurate test of your line speed. If the results are still good then you can safely assume that the issue is not on your end. Your ping is also affected by the server you are playing on, the closer the server the easier it is for you to reach it and the faster the response time.
