Question Unusually High GPU Power Draw But Low Usage

Hello, currently I have a problem with my gaming laptop. The issue is when I play, sometimes the GPU watts go overboard. The supposed power draw is only 80 + 5 watts at max, but currently, I am achieving that power draw at low usage resulting in so much unnecessary heat production. Any ideas why this happens? Is it intentional and nothing to worry about? As my GTX 1060 PC build only shows the wattage relative to the usage which results in proper scaling of temperature.

The screenshot came from Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 but the issue extends to any game I play, from Quake Champions, Warframe, and basically around 80% of my library. The only game to be immune to this issue is Halo MCC as even Grim Dawn which is way easier to run encounters the same issue.

Out of curiosity.....what is the GPU power draw....and GPU temp.....at 99-100% GPU usage?

It's most probably game engine rather than your GPU since one game is immune to it. I remember an RDR 2 update caused my GPU to run at 100% usage all time while playing the game. what you can do is google and look for 3060m optimal undervolted values, undervolt and overclock the GPU using Afterburner and try to get get what is stable in your case through trial and error. Less voltage will certainly reduce temp.

Something doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
That shows your power draw is less at double the usage.
Not only that.....your temp only climbed 4 degrees.
I think there's a good chance one of the readings is flawed.
