Hi all,

some months ago I bought a new PC but unfortunately since the beginning I had some problem in playing various games because at a certain point during games like Battlefield 2042, Sniper 5, Halo Infinite and now Call of Duty MWII,after 15 min or 1 hour the game would freeze and kick me out eventually with an error message . I was looking around for solutions and until now what worked best was undervolting with Afterburner at 1.075 mV and 2100 MhZ even if the Perfomance probably decreases a bit and still sometime a have some crash or like for Halo Infinite I still can not play. Do you have any suggestions or Ideas on what I could do?
I am not very expert of Informatics so please understand me if I am not precise, sorry :)

Maybe this is more precise for the Specs:
  • CPU: Intel Core i9-11900 - max 5.20GHz - 8C/16T - inkl. UHD750 Grafik
  • Processor cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
  • Random access memory: 32GB (4x 8GB) - 3200MHz - G.Skill Flare X - high performance
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX - 13xUSB(1xUSB-C) - 2.5G LAN - WLAN 6 + Bluetooth 5.2
  • GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 3080 Xtreme (rev. 2.0) - 10GB - 3xHDMI/3xDP
  • Soundcard: 7.1 HD Onboard Soundkarte
  • Hard drive (m.2 – SSD) : 1TB - m.2 NVMe Gen4 - Samsung 980 Pro
  • Additional hard drive (SSD / HDD): 4TB - HDD - WD Red
  • Drive: Extern: LG GP57EB40 DVD±RW
  • Power supply Unit: 750W - 80+ Gold - Seasonic Focus GX-750

so the fact that you are able to game for a small amount of time leads me to believe you are having temp issues somewhere. Are you monitoring your CPU and GPU temps while gaming with MSI AB or other monitoring software? also, is your MB bios up to date? if I remember correctly an older bios can be an issue with some of the newer GPU's

so yes since I undervolted the Temperature is always around 65°C for the GPU while playing, on the other hand when I play without undervolting it is maybe a bit higher, but not too much i guess around 70°C for the GPU, but I I didn't monitor the Temperature for the CPU. No, I didn't update the Bios until now, you think it is really worth it? is it risky to update the Bios?
