Hello, I am new to the forum so please be gentle,
I hope someone can help me with my problem, Up until about 3 months ago the speed of my browser was working well. Recently when I need to open up a bookmark in Chrome, it takes 45 sec to a minute to open up the chosen web page.
It not only happens on bookmarks but also when I type in an address in the address bar and press enter.
I have 3 desktops that I alternate between for certain work that I do and all 3 are using Chrome and react the same way when used. I do not keep the on all at once. My wife is on yet another desktop and hers seems to be a lot faster opening up her bookmarks and other sites.

Can anyone give me some direction as to where the problem might be ?
Thanks in advance , mjbarr3

Boot one of three desktops but do not immediately open or launch Chrome.

Open either Task Manager or Resource Monitor to observe system performance. Use both tools but only one tool at a time.

Once computer becomes stable, leave the tool window open but move to a viewable location.

Then open Chrome and watch for what, if anything, that changes.

It may take a bit of trial and error to work out the process. No need to rush and waiting a few minutes between each step is overall beneficial.

It is possible that some other process will kick in because it is running in the background (Task Manager > Startup).

Or Task Scheduler may trigger some process.

Check and watch each of the desktops.

And there are other tools available to help if and as neeed.

try the suggestions you get when you google "why is google chrome so slow"

Well, I've tried the above suggestions and didn't make a difference. Chrome bookmarks is still reacting slowly. I have switched to Firefox and imported the bookmarks for now so I can continue working.

There could be chrome extensions that are causing the pages to load slowly. There could also be too much cookies and saved images in the browsers cache. Clearing the cache of cookies could help with that. What are the specs of the computers that are having issues?
