Up to $2000 for a lcd, which one should I get?

What is the best monitor I can get for $2000 or less? It will be used mostly for gaming and web browsing, and occasional casual graphics work. I know of the 23" Apple Cinema and the Sony 23" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824006084. I know both of these got good reviews when they came out but I think they've been out a good while and I haven't paid attention to much thats come out since. Finding good review roundups is hard because they (understandably) focus on less expensive monitors. I don't really have a preference between widescreen or 4:3, I just want the best monitor I can afford. I will go with a smaller one (20-21") if they are much better quality, I just don't want to go smaller if price is the only advantage. I don't mind spending more since I go a very long time between monitor upgrades. I'm still using my old 19" Sony CRT. Any suggestions?

I'd go with the Dell monitor any day though. Which is why I did. It's a great monitor. No ghosting and it's a beast. Just make sure you have a top end graphics card if you plan on playing games.

What uses were you recommending this monitor for? I noticed that it was not rated all that highly by Tom's. I really need a great monitor anywhere from 19" to 24" with at least 1600x1200 resolution.. primarily for gaming, which Tom's said is not the 2405FPW's strong point 🙁
Do you agree with this? Any opinions on the HP L2335?
anandtech.com gives great review for that display, sounds a little faster than the 2405FPW. Any other recommendations? I dont want to top $1000-$1100 and a flex pay like dell offers would be great but I dont require it.

The review was positive until this:

" Video noise while watching DVDs is strongly evident. This is a shame, because the format of the screen would be perfect for this application. Forget it, though - there is definitely too much video noise and, in addition, viewing angles aren't suitable. Games are clearly not this monitor's strength, either; it's too slow, and the monitor displays annoying lags. Worst of all, moving images lose sharpness in their textures. "
