TCCD can't be in 1GB sticks...as for the -5B G's....I've got a pair of 1GB sticks in the mail for my new system.

4x512 has happened only once or twice on a Venice/SD in 1T....and only once in a Winny. If you want high performance 2GB, 2x1GB is the way to go (or 4x512 with bank interleave on, with 2T...makes up for most everything performancewise except spi--very high clocks are needed, though).

Ballistix are the shit, they run the latencies of UTT, BH, etc. (except CAS) yet can also run the clocks of TCCx with TCCx latencies!

Lots of versatility, *slightly* less performance (in 2x512MB setup...in 2x1GB, it's numero uno by a landslide).

I probably won't be able to test the limits of my Ballistix until 4400+ gets here from TD...might be awhile.

How about 260@ 2-3-2-6?

Ballistix won't do that and neither will any other 1T config of 2GB. Besides, 2.5-2-2-5 is slightly faster than 2-3-2-6 in most applications...CAS really isn't as important as people thought.

Yeah, I wasn't talking about 2 gigs. There's no way you can get that with 2 gigs, but my 1 gig does those timings, and it's definitely faster than 2.5 anything on these modules. I've run 2.5-3-3-5, 2.5-2-2-6, and several others. I always get better results with my 2-3-2-6. I can run the memory at 2-2-2-5 at this speed, but I'm waiting for my higher CFM side fan before I push it more.

If I'm not mistaken, UTT doesn't benefit from lax timings...2-2-2-x should be fine for you, as long as you have SOME air going over it.

With the EB/Micron/Ballistix ICs, 2.5-2-2-x is faster than 2-3-2-x, just goes to show ya how much timings really mean when comparing between platforms (also like how BH and CH varieties are faster at 2-2-2-x than TCCx is).

That's exactly right. Loosening the timings on these modules does nearly nothing for you. I can't get much more clock speed with these when loosening the timings, but at this clockspeed and these timings, they perform as well as TCCx at 300+ clocks. I almost got some ballistix when I first started building this rig, but then the sight of TCCx and UTT made my mouth water. I still sometimes think of how it would be to have gotten the TCCx instead.
Hey Wus, I kind of hit a road block with the current setup man. I was talking to you in another post about the dual watercooling setup in the plexi box, that I was building. Well, it's not finished yet, but I should have been able to get more from what I got currently. I hit 260 at these timings, and strangly enough I can get prime95 to run stable for about 3 hours, then "pop". Also, when I run memtest off a floppy, I get errors right from the beginning. It will pass 3 of the 6 tests, sometimes 4. If I loosen the timings, it makes no difference. I'm starting to think it's the on die mem controller that's holding me back and will possibly be investing in a venice and getting rid of this winny soon. You know a good amount about the progress I was making during this build. If you have any ideas or things I might be missing, feel free to throw'm at me.

Yup, I'm going to have to agree with that. I'll be getting a venice soon. I think in the end I'll be running a divider, 3:4 most likely. I know the processor can do more, but the memory just won't. And it's not really needed since, again, the performance at this speed/timings is just awesome.
What's the rebuild for? Just for aesthetics, trying to take out some hotspots, or adding some things?
That sux about the flu man. And with people in our line of business, we don't get much sleep, which of course doesn't help getting rid of the flu. Just make sure you get some rest to kick it man; you don't wanna shoot a big green wet one on the vid card and fry it!
Btw, I'll be getting that plexi box finished in a week or 2. I can't wait to see how the system is going to turn out!

Update...link on the original post.

4x512 1T doesn't work with Venice chips. Someone said that 4x512 1T would work on the Venice chips. Thought the tid-bit from the anantech article would spark your interest wusy.

Ok sure. I might have been a bit preemptive in my conclusion anyway...but i've been waiting for other people to post that they have or haven't been able to do it, and i can't find much info...

But its not bugging me that i can't find much info on this subject...nooo not at all, it doesn't bother me at all....kasjdfkajl;sfj
