Update Bios for Asus P8Z77-V-PRO Motherboard

While trying to download the latest bios for the Asus P8Z77-V-PRO Motherboard I got a message asking me to download and install Akami Netsession Software. Is that a legitimate request? If it is what is the purpose? I could find no information about it on the Asus website.
