Update Drivers first or Windows?

Ok...
So I just finished building my PC and installing Windows 8.1. I am planning on upgrading to Windows 10 for free. My question is should I update my motherboard drivers through Asus's website or should I update windows to Windows 10 then update my drivers.

I'm confused.

Me personally I think you should upgrade to Win10 first. Never know if your drivers could go AWOL after installation, then you'll have to reinstall them all over again.

I hear there's a System process memory leak pertaining to Nic drivers needing reinstallation.

It is actually better to upgrade the drivers to the latest stable version. That is what a lot of people have had to do to avoid a black screen.

I have Asus MoBo. I installed latest drivers for Win 8, upgraded to Win 10 and then installed those few drivers that they already released as Win 10.
