Having some issues with virtual servers that are running windows 8. Something about a recent update is not being liked and causing the servers not to run. if I reboot the server and run it in safe mode I'll get the message "failure configuring Windows updates, Reverting changes" Once it completes it's stable and usable again; however, after a restart it will try to update and end up failing again.

I've tried to go into Change PC Settings, Windows updates and manually install the updates 1 by 1 to find the culprit. But... It's not what I'm used to in say Windows 7 where I get a list of the updates to be installed and get to manually choose which update I want to run. I've google searched and they all seem to lead me to the same place with no solution.

Any ideas of how I can install 1 update at a time? I've ran into this issue before on windows 7 machines that were pulling several updates at once and was able to fix it by installing them in the order I want instead of everything at once.

Thank you for any and all information.

Update: I was able to get the Framework update and the IE update to go through by installing them only. The rest regardless if I do them 1 by 1 result in the same issue. The machine will not boot and says it has an error configuring windows update and the only way to get it back up is to revert them. Not sure where to go from here.
