Just thought I'd let you guys know what's been happening after my Alienware fiasco. I *finally* got my credit for the cancelled system from Alienware (which took a full week, but they did get it right thank goodness). In that same time (7 days), GamePC built, tested, and just this afternoon/evening shipped my system (and that's with newer components than Alienware's even got). I'm quite impressed with their service - they answered *numerous* e-mails from me, and they even investigated replacing the 100 GB Western Digital drive I originally ordered with the SE model. They were unable to do this, but still, I truly believe they did investigate that possibility for me when I asked them to. (I decided I may just swap out the drives and sell the other one if I choose to after I get the system, but those SE drives are hard to get - you can backorder them now from WD on an individual basis). At any rate, I'll admit I'm a pest as far as details and questions when building a system, and they *always* took the time to answer my questions and never seemed at all irritated (hey - I am making a big investment here, but some companies wouldn't have liked so many e-mails). At any rate, so far I'm pleased, and let's hope it continues!

Just thought of this, but for all those who have bought from a retailer like Alienware, VoodooPC, GamePC, Hypersonic, or Falcon-NW, there's a site called www.resellerratings.com that's pretty cool. It's also quite helpful, and if you've had a bad experience or good one, you can reflect it there so people visiting can get an idea of how things went. I know I left one for Alienware and will for GamePC when I get the system.
