Update only BIOS

Just did the December 2017 updates. PC will only boot to BIOS now. Only have my hard drive as boot priority. Tried booting from a USB and that worked. Friend discovered an error in hexidecial code between partions. I'm not sure what the next step is aside to completely wipe and reload windows. I'm fine with this. But what could have caused this and is the code error even the real problem?

What make, and model is your hard drive, I have doubts the upgrade would make your system entirely unbootable. (though technically possible)
I would be more concerned the drive itself is being faulty, is it an hard drive or an ssd ?

Um, what and how? Thats a load of something....

Anyway if you can boot from USB but it won't boot from the hard drive you can likely fix the drive using a startup repair. You need another computer and to make a bootable Windows installer

Use that, create a bootable USB, and select repair windows install.

I have the Asus G20CB B-10. Not sure of the brand but it's a 2TB HDD. Not near it at the moment.
