Update problems

I cant do updates past sp1 all it keeps saying is I need to install sp1 i click for it to do so and it goes through the steps wich takes several hours and when its done its not listed under comp properties but it is listed in updates...I have tried microsoft fix it...ya real helpful There are some failures in the event log, but I am at a standstill as what to do???

Check for errors in event viewer (event monitor).

There was 2 errores RE SP 1 there seemes to be alot of info there that I dont understand what it all is...
