UPDATE!! PSU ISn't Dead, help! -- did my psu just die?

So i just built my system yesterday and have been using it since... everything was going well when I was using the asrock tuning system to increase my gpus power... i only overclocked it a little from where it already was (and the system was not hot at all before that... was running around 34c). anyways, i clicked apply and the system shuts down but completely, music turns off and screen is black. Keyboard and mouse are still alive (obviously not doing anything though) and my computer is on (fans running and the power light is on). since i cant get it to turn off, i flip the power switch in back and try to flip it back. it seemed like it tried to power on for a moment and then just nothing. And since then, Nadda...

i am trying to find a different psu to test it with but i dont think the one from my old old not meant for gaming prebuilt will cut it....

there was no smoke, or popping sound, or anything else that happened btw

would that prevent the fans from all spinning? including the fan on the psu???

also no i have not yet... thats just taking out the battery for like 30 seconds and putting it back in right?

it's the asrock oc tool that comes w/ the mobo.

as it turns out the psu is definitely dead, since the old pcs psu only had 1 4pin connector and i needed 2, i just put the questionable psu into the old pc.... and voila!! We had nothing! So at the very least the psu is bad... whether or not something else died in the process is yet to be determined 🙁

Okay serious problem!!!!

I just realized that i had disconnected the pront panel on that pc... so i retried it with that panel properly connected. it powered on for a sec (nothing else really happened because everything else was dc'd).... but it was giving power to the system!!!

idk what the hell happened but i decided to give it another go for some reason... and i plugged the psu back in out of the case.... i hit the freaking RESET switch on the case... and it's powering up now?!!??!? What in the hell!!!??!??!?!?

that time i got it to run the bios stuff for a second like it would when you remove cmos battery... but then it decided to restart around 30% in and it's not posting again.... what the hell

At what point does 30% = ? Did you have the option to hit the BIOS? You can try using your clear CMOS jumper, I think the battery should have done it, but it's worth a shot at this point:

CLRCMOS1 allows you to clear the data in CMOS. To clear and reset
the system parameters to default setup, please turn off the computer and
unplug the power cord from the power supply. After waiting for 15 seconds,
use a jumper cap to short pin2 and pin3 on CLRCMOS1 for 5 seconds.
However, please do not clear the CMOS right after you update the BIOS.
If you need to clear the CMOS when you just finish updating the BIOS,
you must boot up the system first, and then shut it down before you do the
clear-CMOS action. Please be noted that the password, date, time, user
default profile, 1394 GUID and MAC address will be cleared only if the
CMOS battery is removed
