# sounds about right make sure windows is upto date before trying to install windows 8.1 you have todo several restarts, in one case i had to download the updates from the ms website, even had to install a few manually, a few at a time, as it couldn't Manage all the updates at once, it can take a few restarts before you can install Win 8.1 form store.

Ok are you connected to the internet, can you browse web pages? If yes

Step 2..goto control panel, run windows update and check for updates,
Don't forget you may have to be logged on as administrator to do this, if you are not go back and log on as admin,

Once you have done this if you have updates that are ready to install, try and install only the first in the long list of updates by deselecting all the others,

Did this work
