So I've had a few posts now about my situation where the motherboard lights up for a split second and then it shuts off on a new build. There's no display on the monitor and the Qcode display doesn't light up/give a number.

Things that I've tried:
-Removing Cmos battery for 5 minutes, and putting it back
-I had some new/unused DDR4 RAM I swapped out with what I had purchased, and tried every slot with a single stick
-I swapped PSU's from my old computer with the one I bought and it works. So not a PSU problem

I get this same result with the GPU in and out. This means it has to be a Motherboard or CPU issue, correct?

Also, if my motherboard shorted does this mean my CPU could be damaged?

Take the motherboard out of the case, put it on the case standoffs on your desk, and bench test it like that.

Do you KNOW for sure you did this, or are you just guessing?

Currently it's out of the case, sitting on the box it came in while I've tested. Is that sufficient?

Taking a guess, but I don't know what else is the issue. A mod was saying I need to update the bios, but here's what happens (this isn't me, just found a vid) - https://streamable.com/oc9xg

Not ideal, but sufficient.

Looks like that board :

https://www.gigabyte.com/ca/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-ULTRA-rev-10#kf

Only supports the Core i9 9900k AFTER a bios update from F3 to F7. So I am assuming that this ''new build'', has NEVER BOOTED?? Just boot loops like in the video??
You have a dilemma...you can't UPDATE THE BIOS without first booting into that BIOS, and you CAN'T BOOT THE SYSTEM UNTIL THE BIOS IS UPDATED SO THAT THE MOTHERBOARD RECOGNIZES THE CPU!!

I think you'll have to ''borrow'' an OLDER GEN 8 CPU to boot into and update the BIOS with, then reinstall the Core i9 9900k.

FUN WITH TECHNOLOGY!! :mouais:🍋

Footnote : Looks like there are TWO(2) different ''K'' Series, with different stepping, P0 and R0, as well as a ''KS'' and TWO(2) ''KF'' models. Don't suppose you know EXACTLY WHICH CPU YOU HAVE??

This is the dumbest thing if this is true. Can I Q-Flash+ it with a USB? Though there's no led light on the IO, and there's no designated USB port for it.

It's R0, and a mod help me with this link here for it - http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SR/SRG19.html

Or, are there any motherboards that have the update already I can buy?
