I want to upgrade to a new computer and want opinions on Hardware. I am more of a software person and do not understand a lot of Hardware specs as far as Motherboards, processors and their speeds etc. It’s been long time since I have upgraded and computer brands and processors have changed over the years so rather then spend the next two months trying to go through the pains taking process of finding reviews for this stuff, I’d rather just ask all of you that know more about it then me. Here’s what I ‘ve got and where I want to go! I currently have an Acer computer running an AMD fx 6100 6 core processor with 8 GB Ram and Windows 10 Pro 64 bit installed. When I run apps like Pinnacle studios 19, my fan is really loud or even when it does a scan with AVG it is loud. I mainly use my coputer for downloading music and movies, watching movies, listening and organizing music and creating and editing videos etc. and browsing the internet using only Firefox.
I have a budget of about $1300 CAD and have found 6 products so far within this which I have provided links below. If you do not want to go to the links I have provided the main specs above each one.
HP 600 G3 PC (Intel Core i7-7700 / 1 TB HHD / 8 RAM / Intel HD Graphics 630 / Windows 10)

And one more Pro media system here. http://www.computersense.on.ca/2017/07/27/pro-media-system/

I am not too crazy on the first two HP models because of their case designs but anyways I just wanted to know what my best bang for my $1300 CAD would be without having a loud fan! I would not know the first thing about building my own system!

Processor-wise the second build with the i7-8700 is preferable. All of them have only 8GB RAM, which I think is on the low side for editing purposes. The only build with a graphics card has the weakest CPU for multitasking with 4c/4t.

I take it you have no interest in building your own system?

Like I said I am a Software person and would not know how to build one myself!

This is a newer version of the post I did last week for everyone to give me an opinion on which computer system would be better for me to buy on my budget of $1300 CAD. The input I got last week was that it would be more cost effective for me to build my own system. Since I don’t know much about hardware I would not build one on my own but I have since last week found a a few places online that do custom builds. As I said last week, when I run apps like Pinnacle studios 19, my fan is really loud or even when it does a scan with AVG it is loud. I mainly use my computer for downloading music and movies, watching movies, listening and organizing music and creating and editing videos etc. and browsing the internet using only Firefox.
So here is my new list of systems and specs for everyone’s input on what’s good and what’s not.

Place #1 is just a ten minute drive from my house. They have quoted me the following system which I could pick up and does not have any delivery charge attached.
Intel i5-9400F Six-Core CPU (9TH Gen)
Asus H310ME Mainboard w/ HD Audio/LAN
16GB DDR4 RAM
1TB Western Digital HDD
DVDRW
ThermalTake MidTower Chassis
EVGA 500W Power Supply
Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit
Nvidia GTX1060 3GB Video Card (HDMI)
1 Year Warranty
$1327 + HST
They suggested that I use Windows 10 mhome instead of pro to save $50 off the above price and also if I am not doing any gaming, I could go with a less costly video card like a GTX 1050 2GB and save an additional $70. That would bring my total to $1207 + HST.

Place #2 is 4 hours west of me and would incur a delivery charge.
AMD Ryzen 5 2400G Up to 3.9GHz Processor with Radeon RX
Vega 11 Graphics
12009 YD2400C5FBBOX $1,299.00 $1,299.00
1 Gigabyte B450M DS3H Desktop Motherboard - (AMD Ryzen
AM4/M.2/HMDI/DVI/USB 3.1/DDR4/Micro ATX/Motherboard)
10110 B450M DS3H
1 Corsair 16GB Kit (2x 8GB) DDR4 Vengeance 2400Mhz
Desktop Memory
11002 CMK16GX4M2A2400C16
1 14005 Crucial P1 500GB Turbo NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD CT500P1SSD8
1 18030 In-Win EFS052 Black Mini Tower Case 450W & DVD SuppoErtFS052.CH450TB3
1 Microsoft Windows 10 Professional Digital Licence OEM New -
No Media
TOTAL:1299 before shipping

And finally place #3 is in the United states and there would be shipping charges and even possibly duty charges which they have not told me what that would be yet.
Case:X2 case
Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B360M-A
Processor: Intel® Six Core™ i5-8400 Processor Six Core 4.00GHz
Memory: DDR4 2666MHz Memory - 16GB
Power Supply: SEASONIC S12III 500W BRONZE
Optical Drive: 24X DVD-RW Combo
Sound Cards: Onboard Audio
Graphics Card: RADEON RX 570 4GB
HDD/SSD: Western Digital Blue 1TB - 7200RPM 3.5" HDD
CPU Cooling: Default Cooler
CPU Paste: Standard CPU Thermal Paste
GPU Paste: Standard Graphics Card Thermal Paste
OS: Windows 10 Home Premium 64-Bit
Anti-Virus: Virus & Malware Protection
TOTAL: $1336.45 before shipping and possibly duty charges.

So I think these have a lot better specs then the previous post I made and I appreciate everyone’s input on these ones too.

The first and second builds are the ones I would short list first, the second one has fewer cores and for creating videos you can utilize the extra cores of the two i5's. I would honestly pick the 3rd PC because of a few reasons:

  1. 9th gen CPU's are hardly much better than 8th gen chips, while the core count is the same.
  2. Better motherboard on 3rd PC.
  3. First PC does not specify RAM speed, but 3rd one has 2666 MHz, which should be good enough for the i5.
  4. If you aren't playing games and don't use many GPU-intensive effects for your videos, then a GTX 1060 on the first build is somewhat more than what you need, but the RX 570 is a good card for not too much money, and it's not overkill for video editing either.
  5. More descriptive about the PSU, and the S12II is a decent unit, while many "EVGA 500W" units exist, and not all of them are reliable.

Overall, my suggestion would be the third PC - while it will be the most expensive after all the charges, it is still a more balanced build for your use case, and there is no expenditure on parts that don't require it.

Agree with this, you get the best value by picking your own parts and building it yourself, and the build mentioned is also good but try to get a different SSD, the A400 is not a good quality SSD compared to other SSD's not too much more expensive. An ADATA Ultimate SU800, for example, is a good quality SSD and usually not very expensive.

Shektron i chose that ssd cause of price requirement it will do fine. Lets not confuse the dude
You have some very high quality components, and a poor quality SSD to go with it, which doesn't seem like a good match. There are a lot of corners you could cut in these parts to make up for the slight price increase of a quality SSD versus an unreliable one. A 1 TB hard drive instead of 2 TB, for example. Or a slightly cheaper motherboard, or a cheaper case, or maybe a slightly less fancy Vega 64 - it really isn't that confusing - the SSD you have selected is of poor quality, and a better quality one costs a few dollars extra. What's confusing about that?

There you go, I fixed it for you:
