My laptop had a really shitty display. So I went to dev manager and checked which driver I had. Turned out to be a Microsoft basic display adapter, and I figured this was the cause. I had heard that even outdated drivers of GPUs can wreck your display, so I checked the drivers of the adapter and turned out it needed an update. But after I updated the drivers display crashed so I restarted my laptop. But now it only boots up to the windows loading screen and then nothing... It just crashed. Any help? Tried googling but couldn't find anything....

That method is not recommended. You can't be sure that the driver came from your laptop manufacturer, so it may not be fully compatible. And as for outdated drivers harming your laptop, that's just not true.

Start your laptop in Safe Mode to remove that bad driver.
Then restart - - Windows should now be able to start normally with the basic VGA driver as it did before.
Now download & install the manufacturer's driver for your laptop model from your laptop maker's website.
