Which changes are good and which are bad? Any suggestions to get more performance out of the money or get some more rgb in there? I would be using this for many different things. A lot of gaming, some programming, and a little video editing and 3d modeling.

The Ryzen CPU will be fine. Parts generally seem OK, do you have a valid Windows key though?

I do not at the moment. How would you recommend getting one. Would I be ok getting one for 30 dollars from a site like kinguin, or should I pay the full price directly from windows?

You Don't Need a Product Key to Install and Use Windows 10

Generally if a price for Windows looks too good to be true, it is. Some reputable vendors may sell keys at moderate discounts from time to time but huge breaks don't happen. However, there is one loophole: since windows 10 still accepts keys from older versions back to Win7 for activation, you may be able to get a Windows 7 key more cheaply and activate 10 with it. Though the free upgrade period 'officially' ended a long time ago it's a badly kept secret that the activation servers still take those older keys. I'd still verify the authenticity of that key first though - post a link here if you're uncertain.

Part of the problem with the previous build is that you had way too expensive components, and a few unnecessary ones. You could easily do a 9600K build without breaking the bank. And you do not, repeat, do not want to store your primary OS on a mechanical hard drive, that will be a massive bottleneck. A 9600K build is perfectly doable on a smaller budget and would provide better single core performance in most games than Ryzen would. Only downside is fewer upgrade paths. Here's what I would do:

That cut the price by a huge margin and you can add whatever monitor, keyboard and mouse you want.
