Updated to 8.1 Preview

I have a windows.old folder that has all my profeam files x86 stuff in so I copied the programs from that intot e new program files x86 folder.

When I try to run Rift it still wants to download the entire game even though all the files excist on my pc, what have I done wrong I thought copy and paste would work

Copy and past should not be used for installed programs. You need to reinstall all of your programs.

Also, you should know that you can't convert Preview Builds to Retail builds when they are released. You will have to re-install Windows and all of your programs again when the preview is disabled.

As I found out after hours of trawling the net. In the last 2 hours I have had so many issues with 8.1 preview, I have formatted and reinstalled windows 8, I will wait for the official release of 8.1 next month which will be done as an update through windows.
