I was looking at an old post I did and thoguht I'd update it... for the sake of argument, and nothing else. Taking into account not only raw framerates, but features, both present and future performance, etc...

18. Nvidia TnT2 = Rage 128
17. Geforce 256 = Geforce2 MX200 = Radeon SDR, LE
16. Radeon DDR = Geforce2MX 400
15. Geforce2 GTS
14. Radeon 7500 = Geforce4 MX
13. Geforce FX 5200 = Radeon 9200SE
12. Geforce3, Geforce3 Ti200 = GeforceFX 5200 = Radeon 9000, Radeon 9200
11. Geforce3 Ti500, GeforceFX 5200 ULTRA = Radeon 8500, Radeon 9100, Radeon 9000 PRO
10 Geforce FX 5600 = Radeon 9600SE
9. Geforce4 Ti4200 = Radeon 9500, Radeon 9600
8. Geforce4 Ti 4400, 4800SE, Geforce FX 5600 ULTRA r1
7. Geforce4 Ti 4600, Geforce4 Ti 4800, Geforce FX 5600 ULTRA r2 = Radeon 9800SE
6. Radeon 9600 PRO
5. Geforce FX 5700 ULTRA = Radeon 9500 PRO = Radeon 9600 XT
4. Geforce FX 5800 ULTRA = Radeon 9700
3. Geforce FX 5900 = Radeon 9700 PRO, Radeon 9800
2. Geforce FX 5900 ULTRA, 5950 ULTRA = Radeon 9800 PRO
1. Radeon 9800 XT

Anybody have any compelling reasons that I'm way off base anywhere?

------------------
Radeon 9500 (hardmodded to PRO, o/c to 322/322)
AMD AthlonXP 2400+ (o/c to 2600+ with 143 fsb)
3dMark03: 4055

Add the FX5600 Rev.1 vs Rev.2 and I like it! Although I will just say this in defence of my card!

Sometimes the R9600P > R9500P and FX5700!

You are also missing the 5900 ultra which I would put even with the 9800 pro and raise the 5950 up one by it's self right under the 9800xt.

Excluding the new stuff, 2 months ago, I would have said that this is a very accurate list. But ever since the DirectX9 benchies have been available, I would have to disagree with your placement of the GeForceFX cards.

The list is most likely for DX8.

For DX9 ought to move FX cards one step back(At least).

Taking into account not only raw framerates, but features, future performance, etc...

I would have thougth the same thing hadi, except for the aboce comment appears to suggest othewise. The list he had was very accurate back then. But now since cleeve claims that it's updated, it doesn't seem to fit the the current mold for DX9 performance. DX8? Yeah, its on the dot, but futurewise, no.

52.16 fixes alot of DX9 problems
Funny thing is alot of people think that, but really it hasn't been 'fixed' that would require an architectural change.

What the new drivers really do is work around the, still poor, achitecture and make partial precision look about as good as full precision DX9 without the performance hit.

I'm sure I'm gonna hear alot of people say what you said above and while it might be doing so with a hint of whimsy, alot of people will mean it.

Don't get me wrong the Det 52.16 appear to do a good job, but nothing has been 'fixed' yet.

Added some cards people mentioned (thanks)...

and I changed it to "PRESENT AND future performance".

The list is meant to give a general overview of how good the cards are with a typical mixed suite of games, not to focus on a specific functionality.

Radeon 9500 (hardmodded to PRO, o/c to 322/322)
AMD AthlonXP 2400+ (o/c to 2600+ with 143 fsb)
