So all of my USBs were working last night before I shut down my computer, but this morning when I started it up none of them were. I BELIEVE there were a few updates on shut down, although I don't remember perfectly - but either way it's definitely an OS problem. When I'm in the BIOS the keyboard and mouse work fine but as soon as Windows starts up they die.
Here's what I've tried:
Safe mode - No luck
Boot from Windows CD to repair to earlier date - No luck since I have no backups or anything of that sort...
Unplug power from computer for 30 secs and reboot - No luck
What I'd really like to do is uninstall all of my drivers and reboot except I obviously can't do that because I don't have a keyboard or mouse.
I even have a PS/2 connector on my wireless device for another keyboard and mouse but for some reason that won't plug into my computer no matter how hard I try.
Does anyone have an intelligent solution other than to go out and buy a new PS/2 keyboard? I suppose I could back up my hard drive on a friend's computer although I'd really like to not go to that trouble - I also need to use this computer ASAP.
Thanks.
