Updateing my processor

how do i flash my processor i wanna take out my p4 1.8g and put in a p4 2.4g and when i did that it told me to update my rom bios for new processor stepping how can i fix this

Go to the website manufacturer of your motherboard. You can use a utility such as CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php)

Then find the appropriate model of your motherboard download the latest BIOS for it and follow their flashing instructions.


* By the way, you "flash" the motherboard, the processor can't be flashed.
