Updating a Dell 2720

I have a top-of-the-line Dell 2720, which is now out of warranty, meaning it's over 5 years old. Overall, I really like it a lot. It works fine, but is a little slow.

I'd like to bring it into a shop and have them update it with SSD drives, USB 3.0 ports, and anything else you'd recommend. Can this be done easily? Do you think it's a good idea? Do you have any specific suggestions?
