I have an Acer Aspire v5 122p 0408 laptop. I want to upgrade RAM but one of the two 2GB sticks is soldered in. Could I possibly replace the removable stick with an 8GB stick and somehow disable the 2GB soldered stick? How would I do this?

And would this even be worth it going from dual channel to single?

Thanks!

Yes, you are correct. One of the 2 GB RAM is soldered. The other 2 GB can be removed and replaced with a 4 GB or 8GB. The max 2 GB + 8 GB.
