Hello,

I just recently bought a new graphics card 'GeForce GTX 1080' for my Aurora A4. I have read that they are compatable, however you need to upgrade bios in able to load the Nvidia Graphic cards. I am currently stuck at Bios A03 and have to upgrade to Bios A05 to avoid bricking the motherboard, and to be able to upgrade A11. Neither upgrade can be ran in Windows mode, so I am trying to create a bootable USB device with an app called 'Rufus.' I then put the download app in the usb drive, and have tried to add DOS files and a flash utility to boot the usb. I have had no luck and don't really know what i'm doing if I could have some assistance. I used to the below answer to get far, however I do not see a FDConfig.sys file when I do those steps. Please help!

Ah yes. I have had two Alienwares and I updated the BIOS on one last summer so I could go from an i7-920 to an i7-980 and I remember those "A" Bioses.

I don't remember the specifics...which means it must have been a standard type BIOS install with no tricks, although the MB is an ASUS P6T Deluxe and I used the ASUS BIOS.

Is there a manufacturer and model number on the board?

...and usually that whole USB booting process to load the BIOS shouldn't be that hard.

I'm thinking I either blew over the "A" BIOS with the ASUS BIOS (if that's even possible) OR there was an ASUS BIOS on there to begin with and I just upgraded the ASUS BIOS....but I know for sure there is an ASUS BIOS on there now.

I was able to figure it out by using legacy mode, and downloading Freedos as an iso image. Thank you for your time!
