I recently bought an Asus ROG x470 Strix-F motherboard and I plan to get the Ryzen 7 3800x when it comes out this month. Right now I do not own a CPU. From my understanding I will need to update my BIOS of my motherboard to use the 3800x. I am fairly new to PC building so I am wondering if I will require an older Ryzen chip to update my BIOS first or can I update the BIOS with the 3800x when I get it? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You MIGHT be able to get it to flash from a USB stick using the ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 feature.
But if that doesn't work then you will need a supported CPU to use until you can get the updated BIOS flashed.
