Updating BIOS on EVGA X58 SLI LE????

I have the above mentioned motherboard since 2009 on my system. Everything is working fine and I just installed a new Samsung 750 EVO SSD. My BIOS for the MOBO is Phoenix Awards 6.00. When I go to the EVGA website it lists this

I was wondering if it's worth to do any updating? The BIOS says 83 and the date is from 2011 but its not Phoenix. When I use the software to see if my system is updated it says YES. Not sure if I should mess with anything?

Hello... if the MB and computer is doing everything you want it to do... there really is no reason to do it. "if it ain't broken... Don't try and fix it" B /

There can be different MB revisions... meaning the MB had a physical/chip change to it... your MB will be physically marked/labeled with the revision #... it is possible to look at the wrong MB revision update file list, so make sure you do not make a mistake there in your searches or installs B )

There are two reasons to update your BIOS.
1. To correct an existing error that is related to the BIOS.
2. To gain additional functionality, Such as support for newer CPUs or other devices.

If you don't have either of these conditions, it falls into the "If it ain't broke, Don't fix it " catagory, and a BIOS update is not recommended.

Never update the BIOS just to say you are running the latest and greatest BIOS.
