Hello everyone! I have an Alienware X51, and I wanted to update my BIOS because I got a new graphics card to upgrade it , and I was having issues with installing it. So I download the update for the BIOS to A14 instead of A10, and after it is done, I reboot and a message comes up saying "Reboot and select proper Boot device or Insert Boot media in selected Boot device and press a key"
This makes me grab my recovery disk that came with the computer, and as I try to fix the issue by diagnosing the PC, I end up deciding to completely wipe it. However, it says that I am missing a disk partition and I cannot complete the process.
After this, I reboot several times, but nothing happens as I don't change anything. I get fed up with this, so I take out of my recovery disk, and then go into my BIOS settings and I set the boot mode from "Legacy" to "UEFI" and then I change a safety feature as well from disabled to enabled. I then reboot, and it works.
Is it okay if I just leave the way my computer is with the UEFI mode? I have no idea what that means or does, but it is letting me work on my computer just fine. However, the BIOS is still A10 since I am scared to try and update back to A14 again.
