Hello gamers, I will soon take gts 250 from amd build, and replace it with a new gtx 760. My consern before getting started is What is the best way to go about removing and installing new drivers? Should I uninstall drivers, then run disk upon first boot with new gpu? Or perhaps let windows do its thing with new found hardware etc? .......
If I should do more to avoid problems, please direct me in manual appoach, as I avoid 3rd party softwares for registry etc at all costs as long as it is not necessary. Also, I would like to ensure that I do not have any remnants of old drivers secretly hanging out on my PC if it could be an issue.

Tips much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Thanks again, but what about in my particular situation, as I am going from nvidia to nvidia, no amd involved?

not really necessary, but wont hurt. or, when installing the new nvidia drivers, choose custom instal and then check off clean install box. i would still run driver sweeper though, just in case there are file s left over from previous nvvidia drivers

Makes sense, I will likely follow these instructions, and run it anyway. I see others have had problems with gpu drivers on upgrade. Much appreciated once more!

Perhaps not necessary, but I went and manually deleted drivers and remnant files from my pc just before swapping video card, and then installed new gpu drivers from disk, and this gtx 760 has been working perfectly. I kept the 3rd party driver remover on my desktop, but did not touch it, no need. Though would have probably worked just fine. The below link will demonstrate steps to the process. I hope this is helpful.
