Updating MSI GTX 970 BIOS

I recently bought an MSI GTX 970. Is it necessary to update the GPU BIOS using MSI Live Update 6?

with gpu most times no unless they find an firmware issue with fans or power. what you want to do is use gpu-z read the card firmware then google the card and firmware number if the card is newish it should have the newest firmware. most video card vendor do drop a lot of updates on there gpu.

No, there's no need. It'll probably make no or very very little difference.

Unless there is problem better just leave it alone. If somehow you do it wrong the card will broken forever. Worse you might not be able to claim warranty over your card.
