A little nervous about this BIOS update guys...

According to ASRock's website, it should work. My exact MoBo is listed on the update list, "ASRock AB350m Pro4"

I downloaded this, but after unpacking the download it asked me
"AMD all in 1 with VGA driver ver:18.50.16.01_WHQL"
I downloaded the reccomended one 19. 5.2, my screen went out and came back in multiple times, but seems to be running fine now.

now this is the part where i get a little hesitant...

https://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSIG.asp?cat=BIOS10

the whole order of operations has me a little confused. i could really use a little better of a walk through on how this all works if anyone is really experienced with it.

The screen flashing, was due to driver updates, and is normal. Download the bios file, and save it to a flash drive. Fat 32 is the normal format, for flash drives, but you can format one, to make sure. Once you have the files, on the flash drive, restart the PC, and go into bios. Use the utility as stated in that instruction.

The exact sequence for updating a BIOS should be spelled out in your motherboard manual. I'd follow that.

But first: I'd go get the very latest chipset drivers from the AMD website. They have the latest and best.

Next I'd do a CMOS reset before updating BIOS. That's also precisely described in your motherboard manual.

Now you can proceed to the BIOS update as described in your motherboard manual.

After that the BIOS is updated I'd shut down and AGAIN do a CMOS reset, just for assurance. Then go ahead and do a restart and let it identify processor, train memory and boot into windows.
