Question Updating old PC

So what can I do to keep this old pc running. Specifically RAM and GPU? Here's the current specs. Any advice is welcome

As for your cpu, you don't have much room to improve without swapping the motherboard.
If your board supports it, an upgrade to 16gb ram would help.

If you are gaming, you could use a gpu upgrade. Something like a 1050ti would be a good pairing unless your psu has less than 300w. Your current GPU is a Fermi gpu which no longer gets driver support, so it might be good to upgrade either way.

How do I know if it can support 16gb ram? I was looking at it and I believe there's two slots so it should be able to support 2 8gb sticks, right?

I'm gonna have to open it up and check the power supply and make sure it can support a better GPU. Is there anything besides the power supply that would prevent me from being able to upgrade to a 1050ti?

The manual on the website says there are 4 ddr3 slots and the board will support 16gb if you use 4x4gb config. Are you sure there was only 2 slots? When you open it, double check this is the same board with 4 slots.https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c02014355

Not really anything other than psu as the limit for GPU support. Id update to the latest bios if possible.

OK! one last thing. With the RAM I cant exceed the 1333 mhrz? I saw the DDR3-1600 and almost bought it

The 1600 kit should allow the PC to run, but the ram speed may be limited to 1333mhz and it wont get the full potential from your card.

I can still do a 2x8 GB ram kit right but it has to be in 1st and 3rd slots? Trying to buy the best ram for my PC for the money and 4x4 GB doesn't seem the way to go.
