Id like some help cause im honestly stumped, im still quite a novice to changing parts.

I had an i5 2.67 ghz processor and just today i put in an i7 860 @2.80GHz processor. It started up and everything seems to be working fine, however i checked under my device manager and the i5 drivers are still there.

I figure this is affecting performance, as the intel processor id utility is still reporting 2.67 ghz. I tried looking online, updating through the device manager, and using intel's driver updator but nothings worked.

Id like to update my drivers but i honestly dont know how to. Any advice would be a great help

Solution
It isn't the i5 drivers that you...
You shouldn't be worried unless it is causing any problems. You don't need to download any CPU drivers (in fact, I don't even think you can), windows updates takes care of that for you. Just update your windows and it will be fine.

It isn't the i5 drivers that you see, but after replacing the CPU you failed to complete the last step. In Device Manager, delete all 4 processors and reboot. Windows will then detect the new CPU and Device Manager will then display all 8 i7 processors.

Solution
He should because Windows uses 4 threads instead of 8 threads.
