I have 2 partitions on my 1.5TB hhd. If I upgrade would I be able to save Data on 1 and upgrade the other?
found the answer, guess im doing full reinstall.
You can't upgrade from any 32-bit version of Windows to any 64-bit version. Instead, you must perform a full, clean installation including re-installing all of your applications.

You can perform a complete install on the OS partition and leave the data partition alone. Anything "installed" to the second partition would need to be reinstalled, but data files (documents, images, movies, mp3, etc) would be safe.
Wolfshadw is spot on, only the partition you would be installing Windows to would be affected. The second "data" partition would remain untouched. You would still need to re-install all of your applications afterward as well, but your saved files would still be where you left them (those on the second partition anyway).
