Upgrade 4.0 or purchase new - Vegas 5.0

I purchased new, (academic version) Vegas 4.0 +DVD nine months ago.
Like the program lots and want to upgrade to 5.0. Upgrade cost on the
web site is $299.95.

If I purchase a new copy (academic price from Academic Superstore) is
$269.95. Seems silly to upgrade. Does any one know if there is an
"Academic Version" upgrade available or other cheaper method which is
less than $299.95?

You could sell your copy of Vegas 4.0+DVD and buy version 5. This
would reduce your costs.
