First of all I'm confused about whether is it worth it or not. If you don't want to read all, you can just read what I have now part and last 2 paragraphs and question.
I want to upgrade because:
1-Currency is decreasing(Türkiye) in my country. And it will cost at least %10 more in next year.
2-Black Friday is about to hit. I may find good deals
3-My system is 6.5 years old.Except ram and graphics card.
4-Probably my cpu horsepower demand will rise soon, because of my academic and work needs.
5-My current parts have a value when I sell them.
I don't want to upgrade because:
1-It will cost quite high(800$ for just 3 parts. CPU+mobo+ram or about 600$ for IPS 2K 144Hz monitor like MG279Q)
2-I won't see much noticeable improvement in games that I play
What I have now?
i7 2600K@4.8GHz 1.415V
Asus P8P67 Pro
Thermaltake Frio Cooler with 2 Corsair ML120 fans
16GB Corsair Vengeance ram@2133MHz CL11
MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X
HAF X, removed 5.25" bays and 1 extra 200mm fan in the front
Corsair HX850i(which is replaced in this spring)
Samsung 840 Evo 120GB(I had an MX300 but it's stolen so I need another high capacity SSD) 3xSamsung 1TB HD103SJ(2 of them in raid0, other one is just long time storage)
Asus VE247H monitor 1080p 60Hz better blance between color&detail comparing to TN panels(at least better than AOC AGON AG247QG 2K 165Hz TN monitor which I returned)
And Razer-Logitech peripherals more than enough
I'm planning to buy i7 8700K, Strix Z370-E or Strix Z370-F or Prime Z370-A, 16GB ram(I don't mind anything like rgb or visual for any part just performance and price balance) and a high capacity SSD(<190$ & >=500GB. which is a must).
In here I can buy them from amazon(US,or any where in Europe, including UK,Spain,IT,DE,FR...) or local retailers. For SSD used ones and/or unopened from other sellers can be considered as an option. I also have about 340$ gift card in my amazon.com account.
As for now, I'm really confused. Our money currency is dropped %2.5, just today. It seems it will continue and taxes seems to rise. So I want to upgrade whatever I choose to upgrade in this sale/holiday season. I can upgrade both monitor and CPU+mobo+ram combo but it will empty my wallet a lot.
As a computer engineering student, I may need more cpu horsepower quite soon. I'm not sure how much more but it will. I'm happy with my monitor, DSR+Fast Sync seems enough to me but higher res IPS monitor can be nice too.Does it be nicer than 8700K, I don't know. Does both upgrades at the same time(CPU+monitor) worth the money that I burn? I don't think so.
So, what you think? Will it worth the money that I will spend or not? If not, any suggestions?
As for reference in local retailers:
i7 8700K costs 1900TL(497USD-427EUR),
Prime Z370-A mobo costs 900TL(236USD-202EUR),
Strix Z370-F 1070TL(280USD-240EUR).
Ram will be from amazon.com when Black Friday-Cyber Monday deals.
