[SOLVED] Upgrade a Faulty PC or Look For Another One?

I've been using laptops for years and I've decided to go back to PCs, starting with a gaming pc. I found this great gaming pc on amazon called the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8560A Gaming PC (Intel i7-9700F 3.0GHz, 16GB DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB, 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD, WIFI & Win 10) Black. It's got great specs but slightly mixed reviews. Some people say that his bad cooling and airflow that causes the CPU to heat up, has a generic unrecognizable PSU that also has a low-wattage, has a bad prebuilt case, and many other problems. Some people even said that the pc broke after a few days. I would like the pc but I'm very worried that I'll spend money on faulty hardware. Should I buy the pc and upgrade it over time if it has these problems or should I keep looking for another one such as the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8500A Gaming PC (Intel i5-9400F 2.9GHz, 8GB DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD, WiFi & Win 10) Black? It has fewer specs than the first pc but also has less of the problems.

So Cyberpower is extremely hit or miss. They use mix match parts, cable management can range from good to awful and yes the PSU is usually the part that is cheaped out on. You can always put a better PSU in the case and clean up the wiring on your own. They also don't have the best customer service from what I've heard.

Now looking at the two the second, and cheaper one is the better gaming PC due to the significantly better 1660ti over the 1660. Although it is only an i5 its still a great CPU for gaming. I would advise to upgrade it on your own to 16GB as 8GB will not be enough for many games these days.

I will also build a PC comparable in price to these two if you want to build it yourself. Just give me a few minutes.

I gave you a 500GB SSD as a boot drive, feel free to change or add a secondary HDD for storage.

The only issue may be is that you will have to update the motherboard BIOS for the Ryzen 3600, which isnt that hard to update if you need to since that motherboard supports BIOS updating without a compatible CPU installed.

Thank you richiestang_78. I had a feeling not to get the CyberPower pc. I've been interested in building my own pc for a while so thank you for adding some specs. I have a bit of a problem with AMD. My laptop has an AMD Radeon R5 Graphics and it's awful. Because of this, I have a tainted view of AMD. How good is the AMD CPU you listed and is it possible for the rest of the specs you listed to work with an intel processor?

Very. The new Ryzen 3000 CPUs have been great, def the best option right now IMO, however Intel has announced teh 10th gen CPUs but right now its all just intel markettign and not real world benchmarks.

The only issue with the new Ryzens is that the overclocking potential is small to non existent, as in there's almost no performance to be gained from it.

Why do yo need a card with so much VRAM? I know the Radeon 7 has 16gb, buts its also been recently discontinued and still costs a crazy amount.

In my opinion if you want something to just work, build intel, if something that you have to tweak all the time, build AMD.
