Hey Great that I found Tom's. I am trying to upgrade to an SSD for booting up. Right now it takes 6 to 6.5 minutes to boot-up. The following is what I have existing

Specs: HP Pavilion Model: FQ561AA-ABA m9520f
ASUS IQIBL-LB (HP Benicia - GL8E MB)
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.5GHz
8.0 GB RAM
64 -bit OS Win 7 Ultimate
Storage: Total 2,750 internal with a Rocketfish USB external
Drive C/D : 750GB
Drive E : CD/DVD Media drive
Drive F : Free space in internal free space.
This particular setup also has the “HP Pocket Media Drive Bay” and a “Media Drive Bay” however, neither I believe would allow install of an SSD and those would not be the right place for a bootable drive, since they are “Removable” drives.
Now let me try to explain what I would like to do. According to the details of the MB, the expansion slots are:
One PCI (unused) I believe HP P/N 492774-001 C94R513-02807
One PCI Express x16 (Used)
Two PCI Express x1 (Both Used)

Can I utilize a something like the following:
1.Obtain: SEDNA PLIe 4x QUAD mSATA SSD Raid controller card (RAID 0/1/10) low profile bracket.
2.Samsung SSD 850 EVO mSATA 250GB drive for installation in the item #1 above.

My problem: I don't know and it does not look like the Open “PCI” slot is correct for the item #1 controller card above. If not what would fit in that slot? If anything?

The thought is that I would have significant additional SSD space for future storage expansion with 4 spaces for new (3 additional) SSD's.

Any help in what to do would be appreciated. Also, My understanding is that If I could use the PCI slot, it may or would have a higher data exchange rate that any of the available MB SATA connections.
If the above will NOT work, then I could get a 2.5 SATA. Would a 128GB work, since program files (with the x86) plus windows folder is about 75GB. Except for price, is there any reason to go to 256 or 512GB over the 128?

Again, Thanks in advance for assistance.

Seems you are overthinking things here. Are you just trying to find a spot in the case to install the SSD?

Get this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817994163 Install it inside your 5.25 bay bellow the DVD drive. Unhook all of your drives excluding the DVD drive. Connect your new SSD to the SATA 0 port on the motherboard. Run the Windows setup, make sure it all boots. Connect your old drive to another SATA port on the motherboard for storage.

I would get at least a 256 GB SSD, they are not much more cost over a smaller one and you never know what you will need in the future.
