I am looking to upgrade my pc to be VR ready and I am upgrading my video card to a gtx 1070 or 1080
I would like to know if I should spend my full $1000.00 Canadian on a gtx 1080or a gtx 1070 and upgrade other parts of my computer.

Solution
To be honest if your on 1080p or 1440p the GTX 1070 will more than handle anything you want to throw at it. I would get that and another kit of the same RAM.

VR is not really my 'thing', so can't suggest too much based on that, but normally resolution would play a big part in the GPU decision.

As a rough idea:
1050TI/1060 for 1080p (although a 1070 would be pushing overkill, it would perform really well)
1070 for 1440p (a 1080 would be a little overkill here, but again, would perform really well too)
1080 or TitanX(p) for 4K

Thank you to both of you for your answers. I was hoping the extra money I spent on the processor and mother board 3 years ago would carry me till I had to up grade my gtx 560.

Thank you
Shawn
