Question Upgrade advice

My current cpu and gpu are a i7-4790k and a MSI gtx 970 4 gb. What should I upgrade first? I’m guessing it would be more beneficial for me to upgrade gpu over cpu. Either way I will wait for zen 2 and Navi before making any purchases.

I use this pc for gaming, photo editing, and some video editing.

The 970 is starting to show its age so if you game a lot or play GPU intensive games go for the GPU as some have older CPUs and do just fine.

Yup, GPU upgrade to a 1660ti would be a good place to start.

Thinking about a 5700xt but I’ll wait for some real benchmarks before I do anything.

I am not under the belief that it will be ground breaking but if it makes nvidia drop prices at all then it’ll be worth the short wait.

If you are using much Premier Pro for 2K/4K editing then you may want an Intel chip if you decide to replace the CPU in order to take advantage of Quick Sync. Premier Pro generally works better with a Nvidia GPU's. At any rate, it would be prudent to wait on both the CPU and the GPU until independant testing is availble for the new Ryzen 3000 chips and Navi cards.
