Hello.
I have a rig I bought 2 years ago with a 3080 and a ryzen 7 3700X, 16gb RAM 3200mhz, 512GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, and a 200€ 4K AOC 28" monitor with freesync. I also have a 6 year old laptop with a 1070 and a 4K G-Sync screen, a Xbox Series X and a PS5 for the exclusives. Since I know the latter 3 aren't easily upgradable I wanted to know your advice on how can I upgrade my desktop in a way I would better prepare for the next generation of hardware. Maybe a better monitor along with a 4090 and eventually an i9-13900k? Faster RAM, would it make a big difference? I plan on adding another SSD to the setup since 512GB is kind of low space given the size of today's games, what would be the better options? Since I plan on changing so many components over time, would it be better to just buy a new rig for 8k or 4k120fps? Or do you think this setup is capable of achieving something like that with a couple of upgrades?
