Hi there!

I'm thinking of upgrading my system, mainly my CPU (i7-7700k) and I'm not sure where to jump to. At the moment i'm mainly playing MMORPGs and a few FPS games here and there. I also live stream on one system using NVENC. I would also have to swap out the motherboard I believe.

Budget is between £700-£800.

Other specs:
OS: Windows 10
GPU: RTX 2070 Super
PSU: 750W
MOBO: ASUS STRIX Z270G GAMING
RAM: Corsair CMK32GX4M2A2400C16 Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 2400MHz
Cooling:
Corsair iCUE H100i PRO XT
Storage: m.2 1TB, HDD 2TB, SSD 500GB

CPU/Motherboard/RAM I would say.

If you intend to stick with the 2070 super, we can assume your unknown PSU is still good.

13600K would seem to be the logical choice, unless you wanted another i7. In which case I would lean towards the i7-13700F. About the same cost and you get more P cores, but lose overclocking and graphics.

CPU cooler might need a new bracket unless we find a motherboard that also supports LGA115x mounts.

This would work. Seems all of the ASUS Prime boards have the dual mounting holes.

Your cooler should have available mounting hardware, for LGA 1700, and AM5.

You have a very useful 32gb DDR4 ram kit that can be carried forward to a
B660/B760/Z690/Z790 DDR4 motherboard.
DDR4 ram is performing just as well as DDR5 and is less expensive.
Intel processors do not depend on fast ram for performance.
2400 speed is ok. See how it goes, you can always upgrade later.
The $200 I5-13400 is a good budget processor.
It is perhaps twice as strong as your I7-7700K.
It comes with an adequate cooler.

It would help us if we knew your monitor resolution. This board down below allows you to use your existing RAM while giving you the option to save up a few more quid for the soon to be released RTX 4070, 4060 Ti and 4060.
