UPGRADE AMD Athlon II X2 B24 CPU

HP/COMPAQ 6005 PRO SFF
I currently have AMD Athlon II X2 B24 CPU Can I upgrade to AMD Athlon II X2 B30 CPU or the AMD Athlon II X2 280 CPU. I see there are not really any real difference beteen the 280 and B30 other than the 280 is cheaper and more widely available with more overclocking (4.33Ghz). But are they Compatible with my PC?

You probably need to check with HP as to compatibility, as neither of those two were optional processors for your PC. In any case, upgrading from a dual core to a faster dual core isn't going to make a whole lot of difference for an older system like that.

I don't even see it worth upgrading that computer. just start saving up for a new computer. its amazing what difference a cheap $350 computer speed would be compared to that system.

But, What $350 PC would have have decent GPU, CPU and Memory I would like. I got this PC in a Cheap pinch because the HDD on my old one gave out. I would like a CPU like 3.60, GPU like 1gb (at least) sound card that has enhancements and EQ and Memory cheap like coming with 4gb but max out to 16gb. Oh, and unconditionally Windows 7 Home Premium. The One I have has Realtek, I had Realtek also on the old one, but this one does not have enhancements for EQ. Been Looking since I go this PC a way to fix that.
