Want to upgrade ASUS k55vm CPU from i5-3210m to i7-3610qm

What should be the steps? Will increase in TDP from 35w to 45w be an issue with already SSD+HDD combo?

Laptop specs:
ASUS k55vm-sx120d
i5-3210m/Intel HM76 chipset
2x4GB DDR3-1600/PC3-12800 SDRAM SO-DIMM (SK Hynix HMT351S6CFR8C-PB)
Intel HD 4000+ Nvidia GT-630m
750GB SATA 3Gb/s Seagate ST9750420AS(7200RPM) hard disk
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT51N DVD drive
Windows 10 pro x64

Solution

There is a config of that laptop that came with the i7. However what do you expect the i7 upgrade to do? If this is to increase gaming performance it simply won't the gt 630m is already holding the i5 back. For producitivty there will be little difference.

Want i7 CPU for faster compilation times and overall speedup of applications like IDEs

Fair enough. Do have some decent thermal paste to help it keep cool since the i7 version ran a bit toasty.
