I currently have a MSI GT220 OC 650MHz 1GB DDR3 card and want to upgrade to a Gigabyte Nvidia Gtx 960 Windforce 2.

Am I able to do this on the P7H55-M? It has 1xPCIe 2.0 x 16.

Also, is it worth it?

Thanks in advance!

The card will work, but it may be held back by your CPU depending on the games you're playing. For a GTX 960 you preferably should have a quad core CPU (Core i5 7xx or Core i7 8xx), and even then you may have to overclock it a bit to get the most out of a GTX 960.

Thanks for the quick reply Supernova. I have an i5 661 3.33Ghz processor. My setup is a few years old now, but as I am trying to push the life of this self-build further out owing to not being able to put Windows 7 or my legit copy of OSX (hackintosh'ed) on to a new processor without buying new licences.

Unfortunately that i5 is likely to hold you back in a lot of newer titles, as it's only a dual core with hyperthreading and not an actual quad core. In any case, you'd definitely see a big boost over a GT 220 no matter what, you just aren't likely to get the most out of a 960.
