[SOLVED] Upgrade / Build - looking for advice

Its been awhile since my last system / upgrade

I am looking to upgrade CPU / Motherboard / RAM / Cooler. I plan on reusing my current video card, SSD's, powersupply, case. This system will be primarily for gaming, looking to spend around $1200 (Canadian) My other question is should i be waiting for the 10th GEN of intel or should i take advantage of black friday / boxing deals. I only have 1 23.5 inch monitor and do plan on overclocking.

I would take advantage of Black Friday deals as the next 10th Gen Comet Lake CPU's will not be here until early next year and even then they will just be a refinement as they will still be 14nm++++ with proper Ice Lake 10nm coming at the end of 2020..

As to the CPU I would not get the 9600K but get the 9700K or 9700KF as that will last you a lot longer with 8 proper cores and it is second only to the 9900K in gaming performance and one of the very best gaming CPU's out at the moment. It should be on sale...The 9600K though good does struggle with some heavily threaded games already.

The money saved on getting this Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro motherboard will help you get the 9700K as it is cheaper than the MSI board and the Gigabyte motherboard has a great 12 phase VRM.

Finally look to the Ryzen 3600 if you need to save money and push the saved money to the best GPU...

Edit also the 9700K will overclock extremely well to 5GHz...and push very high frame rates for 1080p.
