Hi, currently looking to upgrade my 5 year old rig. I know I definitely need to upgrade the GPU.

CPU: Intel i5-3470 3.2GHz
Mobo: ASUS P8H77-V LE H77
PSU: Coolermaster GX 650W
Ram: Kingston Hyper-X GENESIS 1600 Kit 2x4GB
GPU: ASUS GTX660 DirectCU II 2GB
Case: Coolermaster Elite 430 Black

CPU has been overheating and causing my computer to crash recently. Looking at a GTX1060 and a better CPU cooler. Any advise would be much appreciated! Thank you.

You need a decent cooler , stock intel cooler to too bad. Get a 4 heatpipe like collermaster 212 and it will be fine.
Bare in mind this is a sys 5 years ago , mobo or other components may die anytime

You can always upgrade the gpu on this system

I'm from SG, budget is <500 if possible. I plan to upgrade my monitor in time to come so I'm guessing 1080p 120fps.

For 120fps, the 8600k is the min I would recommend. That with a mobo, cooler and new rams would come to 500 usd. Then a 1060 would be anywhere from 250-300. Not to mention that 1060 won't give 120fps. Max 80-90 fps in the latest AAA games. A 1070 is required for 144hz gaming. That will cost about 400-450.

And if your psu is cheap, that will go from 50-75. So 875 in total. 1000 if going for 1070

Will my current PSU be able to power the 1060?
